Catholic Charities – Social Concerns Coordinator

Primary Function:  The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director of Social Concerns in implementing initiatives and projects from the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), Catholic Charities USA, and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.  The Project Coordinator would work with the ministries of Parish Social Ministry, Care for Creation, Human Trafficking, Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, and Justice for Immigrants. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Director of Social Concerns in advancing the mission of Catholic Charities Social Concerns.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other Archdiocese of Indianapolis ministries, community not-for-profits, and parish and school ministries. 
  • Commitment to ongoing education on societal issues that impact the dignity of the human person.
  • Manage Social Concerns on social media and web pages.
  • Coordinate logistics for Catholic Charities – Social Concerns events. 
  • Other duties as necessary to ensure the efficient functioning of the Agency.

Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and experience in Catholic teaching or specialization in Catholic Social Teaching preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Well-developed verbal and written skills.
  • Have a working knowledge of Catholic parish life.
  • Ability to relate to a wide variety of people of different ages, backgrounds, and cultures.
  • Some travel is required to parishes, schools, and deanery centers in the Archdiocese.
  • Some evenings and weekend work.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Willingness to foster the Church’s mission.
